Summary
Reporting to Finance, the Payroll & Benefits Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information; participate in daily data entry payroll processing.

Primary Responsibilities
Manages workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
Generates, sorts, and distributes payroll hours reports for verification and adjustment by operations.
Reviews hours, reports, prepares discrepancy reports, and follow-ups.
Verifies that all hours and other data have been accurately input and downloads the information for payroll processing on a weekly basis.
Prepares a variety of reports for team leaders and managers to aid in the tracking of and verification of pay.
Assists in the resolution of pay discrepancies, acting as a point of contact internally to resolve payroll inquiries.
Reconciles payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
Understand proper withholding tax on different types of payments.
Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
Enter referrals paid/monitors referrals weekly and inform agencies of referrals to be paid.
Record agency invoices in the SAP SE.
Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
Required Experience
Post-secondary education in a related field, Payroll Administration preferred.
Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or ADP payroll systems is an asset.
A minimum of 2-3 experience processing Canadian payroll; USA payroll is an asset.
Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
Working knowledge of Time and Attendance systems.
Strong knowledge of government regulations.
Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
High attention to detail with organizational and prioritizing skills.
Advanced Excel required, with excellent computer skills.
Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation obtained or in-progress is strongly preferred.
