As the Business Transformation & Operational Excellence Project Lead, you will play a critical leadership role in driving enterprise-wide initiatives that deliver transformative value through operational efficiency, process optimization, and strategic change management. Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead Business Transformation Initiatives: Design, plan, and execute strategic transformation projects across all of North American operations, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals and value delivery.
- Champion Continuous Improvement: Leverage Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies to reduce waste, improve quality, enhance productivity, and drive cost efficiencies across functional areas including Manufacturing, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Quality.
- Coach and Develop Talent: Mentor and lead a team of Operational Excellence Engineers, and Co-ops to build internal capabilities and foster a high-performance culture.
- Project & Program Management: Oversee the lifecycle of multiple, concurrent high-impact projects—ensuring scope and timelines are clearly defined and achieved.
- Innovation and Best Practices: Evaluate, standardize, and integrate best-in-class practices and emerging technologies across all facilities to build a future-ready operational infrastructure.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, site teams, and corporate functions to align project goals with strategic business priorities and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
- Culture Catalyst: Promote a mindset of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning across the organization, driving sustainable change at every level.
Required Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA is an asset.
- Experience: 3–7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, operations, or business transformation— preferably in the food & beverage or CPG industry.
- Methodology Expertise: Certified Six Sigma Black or Green Belt with hands-on experience applying Lean, Kaizen, DMAIC, and other CI tools in a manufacturing or supply chain context.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong data analysis capabilities (Excel, Power BI, Minitab, Python is an asset). Comfort with systems thinking and digital transformation concepts.
- Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead teams, coach individuals, and influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed or decentralized organization.
- Project Management: Strong skills in project planning, execution, and reporting. PMP certification is an asset.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills. Ability to synthesize technical concepts for executive audiences.
- Adaptability & Drive: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with high expectations and shifting priorities. Strong sense of urgency and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Other Requirements: Must be able to travel to the US for weeks at a time. Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to support travel across sites as needed.
